3. Market and execution risks

Prices can move rapidly due to news, market conditions, earnings announcements or other events. Gaps, low liquidity, volatility and trading halts can prevent entry or exit at the expected price.

Orders may be delayed, rejected, partially filled or executed at a different price. Stop orders do not guarantee an exit price or maximum loss. Fees, spreads, slippage, borrowing costs and taxes can materially affect results.

4. Automated systems require supervision

Automation follows programmed instructions; it does not establish that those instructions are profitable or appropriate.

Risks include coding errors, incorrect settings, faulty data, connection failures, delayed signals, broker/API changes, duplicate orders, missed orders and outages. A system can continue executing flawed instructions until intervention occurs.

You must understand permissions and settings, monitor account activity and know how to disable trading or manage positions if a failure occurs. Test configurations appropriately before committing capital. Automation is not a promise of unattended income.

5. Past performance and performance statistics

Historical results do not predict future performance. Results can differ by account size, risk settings, broker, costs, timing and market conditions.

A win rate alone does not establish profitability: a system can win frequently and still lose money if losses outweigh gains. Profit factor and cumulative profit figures also require context, including sample size, time period, drawdown, capital employed and calculation methods.

Review whether figures are gross or net, realised or unrealised, and independently verified or self-reported. Selected periods or accounts may not represent all outcomes.

6. Backtests and simulated results

Backtests and paper-trading results do not represent actual live execution. They may benefit from hindsight, assumptions or selection of favourable data and may not fully account for costs, slippage, liquidity, rejected orders or the impact of real money.

A strategy can be overfitted to historical data and fail when conditions change. Strong simulated results do not establish that a system will perform similarly in a live account.

7. Examples, testimonials and community content

Screenshots, examples and testimonials describe particular experiences. They are not guarantees or necessarily representative of other users. Community posts may be incomplete, inaccurate or unverified.

Do not act solely on another member’s claim. Never provide passwords, brokerage credentials or funds to someone claiming to represent LFG without independently verifying the request.
